Some herbs and plants in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 are quite rare, and poppy is among the most difficult to find. Unlike more common plants like nettle or mint, poppy doesn’t simply grow in every field or outside homes. You’ll have to search a bit harder to track it down.
Since every herb in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is important for crafting potions or poisons, it’s useful to know the locations of poppy. Given its rarity, you should focus your efforts on specific areas to gather or purchase this valuable ingredient.
Where to Harvest Poppy
The game describes poppy as being "abundant in fields and furrows" across all regions, but this is fairly vague, considering how many fields and forests are present in the game world.
To make it easier for you, there’s a particular spot where you can consistently find poppy. If you venture into the fields east of Semine, you’ll discover plenty of poppy growing there. Look between the wheat crops, and you should be able to spot them without too much trouble.
Once you’ve gathered the poppy, you can either use it right away in your potion recipes or dry it on a drying rack to save for later.
Where to Buy Poppy
If gathering isn’t your forte, you can also buy poppy from select merchants within the game. However, it’s worth noting that not every herbalist or apothecary will stock it like they do for other herbs.
One of the best places to purchase poppy is from Aranka, who can be found in the Nomad camp west of the Trosky region. You can buy it for less than one Groschen each. Once you’ve acquired what you need through gathering or purchasing, take it to an Alchemy Bench, and you can start crafting the potions necessary for your journey.
If you’re in the Kuttenberg area and can’t find any poppy, consider traveling back to the Trosky region. Speak to the Coachman west of Suchdol, and for a fee of 200 Groschen, you can make the trip back to Aranka for your supplies.
