Jamanra, the Risen King, serves as a challenging boss in Act 2 of Path of Exile 2. Once you’ve traced the path of corruption to the Vastiri Desert, you’ll confront Jamanra at the Halani Gates.
Victory in this battle largely depends on your endurance, as Jamanra’s attacks are designed to steadily diminish your health. To succeed, you’ll need to familiarize yourself with his attack strategies. Let’s explore key details about Jamanra, including his various moves and how to dodge them.
Where to Find Jamanra, The Risen King
You’ll find Jamanra at the end of the Halani Gates area in Act 2. To reach him, you must activate two of three gate levers, ultimately discovering the broken third lever. Continue through the area until you arrive at Jamanra’s boss arena.
How to Defeat Jamanra, The Risen King
Throughout this fight, Jamanra employs several types of attacks. Here’s a breakdown:
Attack |
Description |
Notes |
---|---|---|
Lightning Laser |
Jamanra unleashes a lightning-infused laser from his left hand. |
Watch for the yellow-orange energy crackling on his hand as a warning to dodge. |
Double Cut |
Jamanra will swing his sword twice, advancing toward you with each strike. |
Look for him to raise his sword slightly before attacking; dodging the first swing is crucial to avoid the second. |
Triple Cut |
He spins and performs three consecutive sword swings while advancing. |
You’ll know he’s about to attack when he points his sword at you; put some distance between you to evade. |
Ball Lightning |
Jamanra summons a ball of lightning that slowly navigates around the arena. |
While it moves slowly, stepping into it can be very damaging, so stay alert while avoiding other attacks. |
Crater Explosion |
A faint red aura will appear around Jamanra’s head, then he swings his sword down, creating a crater, followed by a secondary explosion. |
When you see him raise his sword, quickly exit the area to avoid the initial blast, then return to the crater to stay safe from the follow-up explosion. |
Jamanra will keep repeating these attacks until his health drops to about 35 percent. At that point, he will become invulnerable and summon waves of Volatile Scarabs. Survive the onslaught, and Jamanra will retreat, ending the battle.
Given that Jamanra inflicts both physical and lightning damage, enhancing your lightning resistance as much as possible will significantly improve your chances of survival. While it may be excessive to overhaul your entire build for one boss, swapping Rings and Charms for those with lightning resistance can make a big difference.
Practice makes perfect in this fight, so the more you get the hang of dodging his moves, the easier it becomes. If defeating him is taking longer than expected, consider leveling up elsewhere or teaming up with a few other players for support.
