In the realm of Tainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon, you’ll come across various tools to help you complete tasks and uncover treasures. Need to unearth some loot? Grab a shovel. Looking to mine for ore? A pickaxe is what you need. But things get a bit tricky when it comes to gathering wood.
Will you require a Woodcutter’s Axe? Definitely. However, you won’t be chopping down trees in the traditional sense. You’ll need to locate specific spots where you can properly use your axe. Don’t worry—we’ll guide you on how to collect wood efficiently!
How To Obtain The Woodcutting Axe
Start at the beach and head west along the road. When you reach a fork, take the northern path, which will lead you to the Ruined Market Square, filled with hostile villagers. Among them is a villager wielding an axe, which is just what you need for woodcutting.
This villager can be found southeast of the large corpse in the center of the Ruined Market Square, hanging out in a dilapidated building. Defeat him to grab the axe. Sounds simple, right? Well, there’s still a challenge ahead: finding a place to actually gather wood.
If you’d prefer to avoid a fight with the bandits in the Ruined Market Square, you can buy a Woodcutting Axe in the town of Horns of the South. Upon entering, turn left and talk to Orlaith. After she finishes her chat, you can purchase items from her shop, including the Woodcutting Axe for 16 gold.
How Do I Cut Down Trees?
Oddly enough, you won’t be chopping trees in this game. Instead, you need to locate specific Lumbering spots. These locations appear as stumps surrounded by partially chopped logs. Unfortunately, they can be a bit scarce. The easiest one to find is in Horns of the South, which is located west of the beach you arrive on. There’s a path leading west near a shipwreck. Follow this trail all the way to Horns of the South.
Once you reach the Horns of the South, show the guard the pin from Caradac, and you’ll gain entry. Now, head to the southwest corner of the town; you should spot the lumbering area there. You can chop wood to your heart’s desire! If the location runs out of wood, just return later, or rest in the vicinity, and it will replenish after 24 hours.
