For long-time fans of the series, finding Rainbow Road is a must. It’s one of the most exciting tracks, so you won’t want to miss it. Fortunately, unlocking it is much simpler than in previous games. Below, we’ll guide you through the steps to reach this vibrant track.
How to Unlock Rainbow Road
To officially unlock the iconic Rainbow Road, you need to complete all Grand Prix series. The specific CC you race at doesn’t matter, but you must finish each Grand Prix cup:
- Mushroom Cup
- Flower Cup
- Star Cup
- Shell Cup
- Banana Cup
- Leaf Cup
- Lightning Cup
Winning isn’t necessary; finishing each race, even in the last position, will still count towards unlocking Rainbow Road.
After completing all seven Grand Prix cups, you’ll trigger a cutscene revealing where to find and access the Secret Cup. Once the cutscene concludes, the Secret Cup will be available in the Grand Prix menu.
