When you start Elden Ring Nightreign, not all Nightfarers will be available, and it’s easy to overlook the Revenant. However, once you understand the process, unlocking her is straightforward.
Before we get into the steps for recruiting this formidable character, you will need to obtain the Duchess. If you need help with that, we have a guide available. After adding her to your team, return here so we can work on getting you the last playable character in the game.
Buy the Besmirched Frame
First, head to the Small Jar Bazaar to buy the Besmirched Frame.
It costs 1,500 Murk. If you don’t have enough, you can visit the altar near the Table of Lost Grace to sell any unnecessary Relics.
Locate the Phantom
With the Besmirched Frame in hand, a phantom will appear in the Roundtable Hold. You can find her on your map, indicated by a yellow exclamation mark. Interact with her to initiate a transport back to the tutorial area.
Battle the Revenant and Her Spirits
Make your way forward until you encounter the Revenant in the old ruins where the tutorial finished. Getting close will trigger a boss fight.
She will summon three spirits: Helen the Page, Frederick the Pumpkin Head, and Sebastian the Giant Skeleton.
Note: This battle must be fought solo.
While Sebastian is immobile, he unleashes the damaging Comet Azur spell, which can catch you off guard. The Revenant also tends to keep her distance, launching the Triple Rings of Light spell at you, so stay alert.
Fortunately, Helen and Frederick are easy to defeat and don’t inflict much damage, so taking them down quickly, followed by Sebastian, should make the Revenant manageable.
Defeat the Revenant to Unlock Her
Once you beat the Revenant, you will be brought back to the Roundtable Hold, and a message will pop up confirming that she has joined your team. You can now select her just like the other Nightfarers in the character menu.
