This remaster also includes all DLCs and expansions, offering a comprehensive experience for both returning players and newcomers alike. Among the new content, Shivering Isles stands out, presenting a truly unique world filled with memorable quests and characters.
This quest is part of the Shivering Isles DLC.
How to Start the Addiction Quest
During the Understanding Madness quest in Shivering Isles, Sheogorath will ask you to check on the Duke of Mania and Duchess of Dementia as separate tasks.
If you decide to visit the Duke of Mania first, you’ll be looking for the quest titled Addiction.
How to Find the Chalice of Reversal
In the happiness-filled palace on the Mania side, you’ll find the Duke, Thadon. Speak to him, and he’ll ask you to retrieve a special item known as the Chalice of Reversal, although he won’t disclose its location.
Instead, you need to find Wide-Eye, who can be located in either the throne room or the Halcyon Conservatory. Speak with her to gather more details about the Chalice; she will inform you that it is secured in Dunroot Burrow, which you can access only by consuming Felldew.
Dunroot Burrow is positioned just northwest of the palace. Travel there, and you will encounter an Elytra enemy at the entrance. Defeat it, then take Felldew from its body. Open your inventory and consume the Felldew to enter the cave.
Continue through the cave, keeping an eye out for additional Elytra enemies to replenish your Felldew supply.
You will receive a notification when your Felldew is running low, but don’t worry; the cave is full of Elytra from which you can collect more.
Follow the quest markers until you reach the door to the Sanctum of Decadence. Once you’re inside, head up the stairs, defeat a few enemies, and claim the Chalice of Reversal from its pedestal.
How to Complete the Addiction Quest
With the Chalice in your possession, return to New Sheoth and find Thadon in the throne room. Talk to him and hand over the Chalice you’ve just obtained.
In return, he’ll express his gratitude and name you a member of the Court of Mania, although there are no significant advantages to this title.
