The Rite of the Nine event in Destiny 2 has brought back 12 dungeon weapons, each featuring new perks and a unique origin trait. Completing these updated dungeons will reward you with powerful Nine-themed weapons and various cosmetic items.
During your adventures, you’ll earn Nonary Manifolds, a new currency that can be traded for dungeon weapons. In this guide, we’ll explain how to obtain Nonary Manifolds and where to spend them. If you’ve collected Curios of the Nine this season, we’ll also show you how to convert those into some Nonary Manifolds and jumpstart your weapon farming.
How to Acquire Nonary Manifold
You can farm Nonary Manifolds by completing encounters in the Rite of the Nine dungeons. Any dungeons listed under the Eternity tab in your Director are associated with this event; however, Grasp of Avarice and non-dungeon content like Dares of Eternity do not count.
Each encounter you finish rewards you with a bundle of Nonary Manifolds. The type of encounter and your score will determine how many manifolds you receive. Generally, standard encounters yield around 80 Nonary Manifolds, while completing a dungeon gives you about 200.
You can also trade Curios of the Nine for Nonary Manifolds at The Emissary NPC in the Rite of the Nine hub. Curios are materials you can collect from Seasonal Challenges related to Heresy and the Chess community puzzle. Keep in mind that each Curio can only be exchanged once.
The Emissary’s bounties also provide Nonary Manifolds. You’ll get 35 from daily bounties and 15 from repeatable ones.
Spending Nonary Manifold
Currently, the only use for Nonary Manifolds is to buy weapons from the Rite of the Nine. At the hub, you can exchange 250 Nonary Manifolds at the weapon chest for a random item from the event. This method can yield adept weapons, although they won’t have additional perks.
Remember, the chest will only drop weapons that are available at that time. During the first two weeks of the event, only certain dungeons will be accessible for farming. For instance, the first week only features the Spire of the Watcher, meaning the reward chest will only provide weapons from that dungeon. Take this into account before you start focusing on weapon drops. After week three, all weapons should be possible to obtain from the chest.
