The Fantasy Finds DLC allows your Two Point Museum team to embark on exciting quests, but they’ll need the right gear. Mythical Gear is a unique type of exhibit that can be equipped by your staff members, giving them enhanced abilities that can help them perform their tasks more effectively.
There’s a trade-off, as you can’t put Mythical Gear on display for guests to admire while it’s being worn by staff. However, if used strategically, these extraordinary items can be quite valuable. Here’s what you need to know about these remarkable relics.
How to Equip Mythical Gear
All exhibits in the Mythical Gear category can be equipped by any staff member. Once an item is equipped, only one staff member can wear it at a time.
Keep in mind that not every piece of Mythical Gear will be beneficial for all staff members, but they can still equip it—so be strategic about your choices!
Mythical Gear can only be equipped when it’s on display in the museum. If it’s in Storage, it can’t be used. To equip an item, place it in the museum and click on its display case to open its information window. Look for the button labeled Choose Staff under its Traits section, click it, and select the staff member you wish to equip with the item.
You can un-equip the item using the same method, but by clicking the trash can next to the staff member’s name in the item’s information panel. This will return the item to its display case.
Effects of Equipping Mythical Gear
Each piece of Mythical Gear provides unique benefits for the staff member wearing it; see below for a list of their effects. However, there are some important changes to note while the item is equipped:
- Mythical Gear cannot generate Buzz while equipped; its display case will show a note indicating that the item is currently in use. However, they can still contribute Knowledge to nearby Info Stands.
- Mythical Gear cannot be stolen while being worn; after all, there’s nothing in the display case to take!
- Mythical Gear does not require maintenance while equipped; its Grubbiness level remains the same as when it was taken from its display case.
All Mythical Gear in Two Point Museum: Fantasy Finds
Below is a comprehensive list of all Mythical Gear found in the Fantasy Finds DLC, including their locations and effects when equipped. Note that, besides the Bolt Buckle Boots and One-Eyed Lid, every piece of Mythical Gear is unique; only one of each can exist in a museum.
Mythical Gear |
Location(s) |
Effect |
Tip(s) |
---|---|---|---|
Bolt Buckle Boots |
Wishfell Village, Upside Town |
+5 Dexterity. Greatly boosts movement speed in the museum but depletes Energy. |
Having multiples can be beneficial for Security Guards chasing thieves or Janitors tackling emergencies. |
One-Eyed Lid |
Troll Bridge |
+5 Luck. Expands the field of view for Security Guards. |
Equipping several can help your security team nab criminals more easily. |
Nor’s Hammer |
Furious Forge |
+15 Strength. The equipped staff member completes maintenance tasks much quicker. |
This is great for Janitors and Science Experts. |
Wizard’s Chat |
Archwise Rise |
+15 Intelligence. The equipped character offers extra Knowledge to guests they pass by. |
An excellent all-around item useful for anyone. |
Loot Lute |
The Woblin’ Goblin |
+15 Luck. |
Actually, the Loot Lute is best left unequipped, as its display case effect generates larger guest donations. |
Plot Armour |
Longrange Inn |
+15 Agility. The equipped character experiences hunger, thirst, and fatigue more slowly and needs to take bathroom breaks less often. They will never go MIA while wearing this armour. |
This can help keep your top staff secure during challenging missions. |
Kingdom Crown |
Mount Gloom |
+20 Intelligence. The equipped character provides a small Happiness boost to nearby guests. |
This boost is minor (5%), so it might be wise to keep the Crown in its case. |
Fantasy Stats on Non-Fantasy Characters
Some areas in Scorched Earth allow non-Fantasy characters to join in. During these quests, a non-Fantasy character equipped with Mythical Gear will receive the Fantasy Stat bonuses from their items, even if they lack Fantasy Stats themselves.
For instance, if you send a Supernatural Expert equipped with Nor’s Hammer, they will still add 15 Strength to the encounter, even without a direct Strength score. This makes Mythical Gear even more valuable for completing your collection of fantasy fish and goblin ghosts!
