The majority of Fortnite quests come with helpful navigational markers for weekly challenges, but a select few may require extra effort. For instance, the Week 7 challenge, “Search a Jewelry Case,” gives only a broad indication of where to locate these cases. In reality, there are just four specific locations, each situated in a corner of the map. Every store features three cases that you can loot, which will grant you gold, but doing so will attract the attention of nearby guards.
This chapter has focused significantly on gold-related activities, and Season 2 continues that trend. Whether it’s through Outlaw Keycards or the new jewelry stores, there are many ways to amass gold. Wherever you land on the map, you’ll find jewelry stores conveniently located for a heist.
Locations of All Jewelry Cases in Chapter 6 Season 2
Four Jewelry Stores, One in Each Map Corner
While the game doesn’t offer detailed information about each Jewelry Case’s exact location, you only need to keep an eye out for the four corners of the map: northwest, northeast, southwest, and southeast. All Jewelry Cases can be found within Smash N’ Grab jewelry stores, which are clearly labeled with in-game signage. You’ll need to hit these specific spots to fulfill the quest.
The Jewelry Case at Whiffy Wharf is on the beach in the northwest corner of the map. You can get to it via the boardwalk or from a lower platform leading up to the Smash N’ Grab shop. This location is one of the smaller jewelry stores on the current map, so it’s best to scout it out first to avoid being ambushed by other players or NPCs.
The Jewelry Case at Pumped Power is situated in the northeast corner of the Chapter 6 Season 2 game world. It’s actually located just north of the main Pumped Power complex, within a Smash & Grab store right off the road. This area offers more space, allowing you to escape quickly if attacked. You can retreat into the nearby ravine to the west or head back toward the main Pumped Power building to regroup and loot more items.
The next Jewelry Case can be looted in Canyon Crossing, located to the southwest. This case is at the western edge of the small town, perched on a hill near the mountains. Interestingly, this Smash N’ Grab location has multiple levels, giving you an escape route to the roof after cracking open all three cases to grab your gold. With its central location and the numerous items available in Canyon Crossing, this site is arguably the best place to visit every match to start amassing wealth.
The final Jewelry Case is located in Hopeful Heights, in the southeast. It’s positioned near a bridge on the outskirts of town and blends in with several other buildings of the same style. To quickly spot the Hopeful Heights Smash N’ Grab, look for enemy NPCs patrolling around. If you find yourself under attack while at this location, exit via the back and head east to escape into the area of Hopeful Heights.
Remember to check cash registers and safes at nearby Jewelry Case locations for bonus loot.
Rewards from a Jewelry Case
Just Interact with the Case, Then Decide to Fight or Run
To actually “search a Jewelry Case,” simply walk up to it and press the interact button. The moment you interact with any case, nearby Alpha Guard NPCs will spring into action and start attacking. These guards are relatively easy to defeat, usually requiring just a clip from an uncommon weapon or even less. However, avoid opening cases if your health and shields are low. Once you open a case, you’ll receive 200 gold. Each Smash N’ Grab location can be accessed three times, yielding a total of 600 gold per spot.
Starting a match by looting one of these Smash N’ Grab stores is a smart strategy, as it helps you build your gold reserves for not only the current game but also for future rounds, since your gold carries over. Collecting gold is key this season in Fortnite, allowing you to spend on various activities, such as hiring NPCs and purchasing items and equipment from vending machines.
