A well-known PS4 action game from 2019 has been quietly removed from the PlayStation Store. Dead or Alive 6, the fighting game developed by Koei Tecmo, is no longer available for digital purchase on Sony consoles.
Last week, Koei Tecmo announced that Dead or Alive 6 would be removed from the Steam storefront on June 11, 2026. The announcement did not specify whether the game would also be delisted on PlayStation or Xbox platforms, but fans quickly discovered that the PS4 version was also taken down this week. It remains uncertain if or when the Xbox version might be affected.
Koei Tecmo offered no explanation for the removal. However, a new version titled Dead or Alive 6 Last Round was released earlier this week, suggesting the developer is likely shifting all player activity toward the updated game now that the original has been around for over five years.
Originally launched in 2019 for consoles and PC, Dead or Alive 6 followed its arcade debut in Japan in 2018. It represents the latest entry in the popular Dead or Alive fighting series, marking the first new installment since Dead or Alive 5 in 2012.
The game’s official description states: “Fan-favorite 3D fighting game Dead or Alive 6 returns with stylish moves, dynamic animations, and a diverse cast of characters competing in intense battles. Capture perfect moments with the new Photo Mode. Play using the classic DOA6 roster along with five additional DLC characters from the original release, plus new costumes. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, Dead or Alive 6 Last Round has the fighting action you’re craving.”
