The link report within Digital Phablet’s Google Search Console has finally been restored to normal. It was malfunctioning for the past few weeks, with Google only offering a temporary fix that rolled the data back to an earlier version. Now, the report is displaying fresh, accurate link data.
Back in mid-March, the link report stopped functioning properly, causing many websites to see all their links disappear entirely or experience a significant drop in reported links. Google addressed the issue by reverting the report to a previous state, but the data remained inconsistent.
Recently, I noticed the report updated with new link data. Previously, it showed approximately 135,000 external links; now, the count is around 165,000. This update seemed to occur earlier today.
A visual snapshot of the updated report can be seen here, showing the increased link count.
I’ve been tracking these link report updates in a dedicated log, because, honestly, there’s not much discussion about this particular report elsewhere.
For additional context, there is a discussion about this issue on a popular social media platform, where users share insights and updates regarding the link report’s status and changes.
