Amazon renews the offer of ebook readers by presenting the new Kindle Paperwhite, or rather the new Kindle Paperwhite because this year the product is offered in two variants:
11th Generation Kindle Paperwhite
Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition, the first Signature line model that offers a piece of richer standard equipment than the “standard” variant and a faster processor.
However, it starts from a shared hardware base that marks a significant step forward compared to the tenth generation older kindles model launched in 2018.
Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 2021 Specifications:
The new eleventh-generation Kindle Paperwhite has a 6.8 “anti-glare screen (in the previous model, it is 6″), adjustable light tone (warm light) and a battery that promises an autonomy of up to 10 weeks (6 in the previous model). Improvements in operational speed: it is 20% faster in turning pages, underlines Amazon.
This is essentially the Paperwhite with the most giant screen ever made and the one with the most extended battery life.
The diagonal increase did not involve any loss in pixel density with a value that always remains equal to 300ppi. The screen – 10% brighter than the previous model – is surrounded by frames with a thickness of 10.2mm, with appreciable advantages in design.
The battery is charged via the USB-C connector, and fast charging is supported: 2.5 hours are enough to fully recharge the e-book reader using a 9W charger upwards.
To complete the picture, there are the 8GB of storage memory und die IPx8 certification, which guarantees the ability to withstand shocks, accidental drops and water (Water resistant).
Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition For Those Who Wants To Get More From Their Kindle
The Signature Edition offers even more than the ” standard ” model:
it is equipped with a front light with a self-adjusting sensor, which automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen according to the light conditions present;
is the first Kindle with wireless charging support: the device is compatible with any wireless charger compliant with the Qi standard;
comes with 32GB of storage memory.
Eleventh Generation Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition also share das same revamped user interface. The goal is to simplify and make the reading experience even more immediate. Among the novelties expressly mentioned:
the new navigation menu to easily switch from the home screen to the library or return to the book you are reading;
new library with new filters and classifications;
new “Collections” interface ;
scroll bar (pages turn);
simplified configuration on the Kindle app for iOS and Android: pairing the device with the phone is even easier;
settings are accessible with a touch anywhere on the screen.
Amazon points out that the new features will be available starting this fall.
Unaltered the characteristics of the software platform, already seen in previous Kindles: Whispersync (synchronizes information on the last page read, bookmarks and annotations on all Kindle devices and apps), book covers on the lock screen (only for devices without advertisements), Word Wise (ability to display a definition next to English words), and assistive technology for accessing devices and applications.
