According to recent reports from Kuai Technology on May 24th, the web version of DeepSeek V4 is now available for free use. While many users prefer accessing it through the web interface rather than the API, the online platform currently lacks several advanced features found in smarter agents. However, some domestic enthusiasts have modified the system to enhance its capabilities, notably adding functionalities like memory recall, Skills, and other enhancements.
This modified project is called DeepSeek++, and it is a Chrome extension designed to significantly upgrade the web version of DeepSeek. It integrates native tool calls, MCP (Multi-Channel Protocol) system, Agentic memory functions, Skills, preset prompts, and automation tasks directly into the interface.
With DeepSeek++, users can enjoy features similar to native tools support, such as automatic memory management—saving, updating, and deleting conversation history—and calling upon MCP tools effortlessly. It also supports long-term memory across different conversations and allows users to switch expert modes conveniently using the /skill command. Additionally, it functions akin to Codex automation, enabling users to embed fixed prompts into dedicated sessions for immediate or scheduled execution.
A representative image showcasing these modifications highlights the addition of memory recall, Skills, and MCP functionalities to the web platform. For a more detailed list of features, interested users can refer to the project’s documentation. Those familiar with tools like Claude Code, Codex, or other intelligent agent systems will likely find the new features especially intuitive and useful, greatly enhancing the overall user experience.
However, it’s worth noting that installing this extension isn’t straightforward. Currently, it hasn’t been listed in the Chrome Web Store, meaning users need to manually download and install it. The installation process involves these steps:
1. Open Chrome and navigate to chrome://extensions/
2. Enable the “Developer mode” toggle in the top right corner
3. Click on “Load unpacked” (or “Load extension”)
4. Select the directory located at dist/chrome-mv3/ within the project files
This method allows users to activate the custom functionalities and enjoy a more powerful version of DeepSeek V4 directly in their browsers.
